Chino is located in San Bernardino County and has a population of over 78,000. Chino and its surroundings have long been a center of agriculture, cattle ranching and dairy farming, serving the demands for milk products in much of the southwestern United States. Chino's rich agricultural history dates back to the Spanish land grant forming Rancho Santa Ana del Chino. The area specialized in orchard, row crops and dairy. Chino expanded from its agricultural roots into a community that offers quality residential neighborhoods, retail centers, and a diverse industrial base. Its General Plan 2025 embodies a “healthy city” concept that emphasizes diversity, sustainability, and planning with the health of Chino residents in mind.
