A&W to Present at CALPELRA 2018 Annual Conference in Monterey

Partner Colin J. Tanner and Senior Associate Michael Huston will be speakers at the 2018 CALPELRA Annual Conference being held December 5-7, 2018 at the Portola Hotel & Spa, Monterey, California. Mr. Tanner and Mr. Huston will be speaking on the topic “Navigating The CalPERS Administrative Appeals Process.”  The presentation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.

Adrian Guerra & Robert Khuu Appointed City Attorneys for the City of Grand Terrace

We are pleased to announce that our partner, Adrian Guerra, has been appointed City Attorney for the City of Grand Terrace, and our associate, Robert Khuu, has been appointed as Assistant City Attorney.  Known as the “Blue Mountain City,” Grand Terrace is located in the southern portion of San Bernardino County and nestled between two mountain ranges: the Blue Mountain to the east and the La Loma Hills to the west.

Roy Santos Named Northern CA Super Lawyers Rising Star

A&W Litigators Secure Landmark Ruling from the Ninth Circuit

Aleshire & Wynder partners Sunny K. SoltaniJune Ailin, Steve Onstot and Jeff Malawy obtained a landmark ruling from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit reversing a nearly $8 million trial verdict against firm client, the City of Carson.  In a unanimous decision, the Court of Appeals reversed a trial court ruling that application of the City’s rent control law violated the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution by “taking” the park owner’s property without just compensation, concluding instead that the City’s Rent Control Review Board acted lawfully in rejecting two requests to greatly increase the rents on over a thousand residents, many of whom are senior citizens, living at the Colony Cove Mobile Estates mobilehome park in Carson.

William Wynder & Adrian Guerra Appointed City Attorneys for the City of Glendora
