Michelle Villarreal and Anahit Sargsyan to Speak at the CSDA Annual Conference (2021)

Michelle Villarreal and Anahit Sargsyan will speak at the California Special Districts Association Annual Conference & Exhibitor Showcase being held at the Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay, Monterey Marriott and the Monterey Conference Center, held in Monterey, CA, Monday, August 30 through Thursday, September 2, 2021.  In their presentation, “Trending: Using Social Media to Promote Transparency and Accountability,” Michelle and Anahit will discuss the ways social media has transformed how local governments interact with their constituents, the benefits of social media in promoting transparency, and the challenges of complying with the Brown Act in a post-pandemic virtual world.  Michelle and Anahit will be speaking from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31st.

Tiffany Israel and Nick Papajohn appointed to Cal Cities/League of California Cities’ City Attorneys’ Department Committees

We are pleased to announce that partner Tiffany Israel has been appointed to the League’s Municipal Law Institute Committee and associate Nick Papajohn has been appointed to the California Public Records’ Act Committee. 

Christine Carson to Present on “Legislative, Legal, and Local Responses to PFAS – 2021” through CSDA

Christine Carson will be presenting and moderating a panel of experts on perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly called “PFAS,” and discussing the local, State and federal responses to PFAS.  The presentation is on April 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Pam Lee to Present on the Latest Employment Laws Related to COVID-19

Partner Pam Lee will present at the monthly meeting of the City Attorneys Association of Los Angeles County on February 25, 2021.  In her presentation, "Vaccines, Telework, & Masks, Oh My! The Latest Employment Laws Related to COVID-19,” Pam will discuss employee leaves of absences related to COVID-19, issues related to teleworking and other accommodation requests related to COVID-19, and legal considerations in implementing a vaccine policy.
