August 28, 2017 -- Chris Neumeyer and Christine Carson will speak, on “Not Everybody Must Get Stoned: Managing the Legally Savvy Marijuana User,” at the Public Employment Labor Relations Association of California (PELRAC) conference in Santa Barbara on October 4, 2017 and at the California Public Employers Labor Relations Association (CALPELRA) annual conference in Monterey on December 7, 2017. They will discuss the impact of Proposition 64 and marijuana laws on drug testing, discipline, reasonable accommodations, and privacy.

April 19, 2017 -- Partner Sunny Soltani will lead a discussion on Mobilehome Park Regulations at the League of California Cities City Attorneys' Spring Conference on May 4, 2017. In a presentation entitled “Mobilehome Parks,” Sunny will discuss recent developments in the law regarding rent control, park closures and fair return takings issues. Sunny will provide practical advice on best practices to avoid fair return claims, preservation of affordable housing issues related to park closures and recent trends in park closures.
April 18, 2017 -- Terry Vickrey, CLM, Office Administrator for Aleshire & Wynder, was installed as President of the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators at the Annual Members Dinner in Newport Beach on March 29, 2017. His term runs from April 2017 through March 2018.

March 8, 2017 -- Founding Partner Fred Galante was named City Attorney of Chino by vote of the Chino City Council on March 7, 2017. William Wynder has been designated as Assistant City Attorney. Fred is also City Attorney of the cities of Rialto and Irwindale.
March 2, 2017 -- On April 24, 2017, Pam Lee and Laura Walker will present at the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association (NPELRA) Annual Training Conference in Long Beach, California. In a presentation entitled, “Supersized Leaves: A Supervisor’s Guide to Handling Excessive Leave Requests,” Pam and Laura will discuss circumstances when employees are entitled to leave under FMLA, ADA, and other statutory leave laws. They will also discuss when the leave becomes excessive and what rights and obligations both employers and employees have regarding leave. Pam and Laura will give practical guidance on responding to and handling an employee’s excessive leave requests.
