October 30, 2008 -- Aleshire & Wynder partner David Aleshire has been appointed as City Attorney of the City ofBanning. The City Attorney acts as general counsel in the operation of city government. Associate Christy Marie Lopez will serve as Assistant City Attorney.
Banning is a growing Southern California community of 23 square miles strategically located alongside Interstate 10 with a population of about 33,000. The City is located in the San Gorgonio Pass between Mt. San Gorgonio and Mt. San Jacinto in Riverside County, California.
Banning has its own municipal airport with corporate jet operations. The City is proud that it has prepared itself for development by controlling the sewer, water and electric facilities. With these low cost services in combination with the availability of skilled workers, housing, schools, and an abundance of low-cost land, Banning considers itself a prime business location.
Initially Banning served as a stagecoach and railroad stop between the Arizona territories and Los Angeles.
